The bed at the Comillas place caved in the middle and the sheets kept getting bunched. The good thing about moving all day is that sleep comes easily. Neither of us woke until 8:30 this morning. Feeling still worn out and most of all calculating distances for this week until we return to Madrid on Friday and for the entire trip, we lit up at the idea of only going to the next town. This is Camino Lite, at least for now!
We arrived, found a cafe with wifi and I had my cafe con leche. Note: I rode 8 cojones busting miles without coffee! And then began the process of finding our piece of paradise. I first connect to Trip Advisor for something that looks good and then I cross reference with a Camino del Norte app I have. Then I find the phone number and give 'em a call. We could easily book online but sometimes there's a better price or even availability by calling directly.
We climbed up high to get where we are but it's with it. The photos show well. Now our chores are done and we're relaxing with the ocean breeze wafting through even purifying the smell of my bike shoes. 50 Euros per night. We may stay two nights.
Can you tell we love this place?
This is my job- washing the clothes in the tub/shower. I usually shower with them on the botto, stomping them clean with my feet. TMI!
Had pizza for dinner!
I see why you love this place! It is beautiful yet quaint at the same time!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! We are developing our slide show to present at REI in a couple weeks and it's raining and miserable here. Wish we were there!!
